My first year film in the DFFB (Berlin film school) and also my first original score.
The sound of fear
The score for the scene where the school shooting breaks out needed to be deep, unnerving and non-musical. Building with the screams and gunshots until reaching the anti-climax following it’s crescendo.
Relief in sadness
The final track is a slow organ track building more on the feelings of the audience than the traumatized main character himself. Upon being picked up by his father, the song plays to show his final sadness, an emotion difficult to deal with after traumatic events.
