Circle

When a stoic American businessman and timid Japanese youth wake up in a mysterious white room they must brave eternity together or lose their sanity in a prison inescapable even in death.

Never ending.

The concept of the score for “Circle” was to support a script idea of two men stuck in eternity. The room they are faced with a completely circular, white space. With no exits, and a simple surface of light in the ceiling. Their attempts at escape prove unfruitful, and eventually so too do their search for answers.

I wanted the track to build on this never ending feeling of existential dread the characters feel within. Since there are no external sources of conflict. The conflict relies on the psychological terror of the room itself being unmovable and showing no signs of intelligence. Yet every time they die, of thirst or otherwise they are brought back to life retaining all their memories. And so the soundtrack goes in this same circular pattern. Never landing, never relenting, until it reaches it’s crescendo.

The track is only a draft.
